[Brief] Men’s cross country places 14th at Spanish River XC Invitational

On Sept. 23, the men’s cross country team competed in an invitational meet at South County Regional Park in Boca Raton. More than 100 runners competed at simultaneously in the 34th Annual Spanish River XC Invitational. The men’s team came in 14th place overall.

“I thought the meet went very well,” Captain Nick Boyer said. “We had a few personal records and everyone ran strong.”

Due to inclement weather, the first meet was cancelled, but junior River Valladares finished first for the men with a time of 18:22.14 followed by senior Josh Charo with a time of 18:50.04.

The team will have its next meet on Sept. 26 against Blanche Ely High School, Everglades High School, Miramar High School, Pembroke Pines Charter High School, J.P. Taravella High School, Western High School and West Broward High School at Markham Park which will start at 4 p.m. for men and women.
