[Brief] Women’s cross country team wins second overall

On Oct. 17, the women’s cross country team participated at their fourth meet of the season that was originally scheduled for Sept. 6, but was rescheduled due to Hurricane Irma.

St. Thomas Aquinas High School hosted the meet at Plantation Central Park which started at 4:30 p.m. The MSD women’s team finished second overall.

Out of the six teams that participated, four runners from MSD’s women’s cross country team placed in the top ten. The weather held up and was clear with a little breeze, which helped the ladies perform at their best.

“The meet went well and the weather was good running weather,” cross country coach Scott Beigel said.

The next cross country meet will be on Oct. 24 at Tradewinds Park, and will start at 3:30 p.m.
