[Brief] Women’s varsity basketball team loses to St. Thomas

At their home game that took place on Friday, Jan. 19, the Lady Eagles were defeated by the St. Thomas Aquinas by a score of 69-22. This was the first time this season the Eagles played against this team.

Though they lost by nearly 50 points, the team tried to stay positive and work together throughout the entire game. Contributions of points were made by Abbey Hsu (35), Nathalia Balderrama (13) and Taylor Thompson (2).

“This was a very difficult team we played against,” Hsu said. “We haven’t lost many games this season, and losing by 47 points is definitely a wake-up call to get back on our feet and try harder in our next game.”

The team’s next home game is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 22 at 6:30 p.m. against Deerfield Beach High School.
