[Brief] MSD to hold mandatory grad bash meeting in cafeteria on March 31

Haley Jackson, Section editor

On Thursday, March 31, 2022, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School will be hosting a mandatory meeting for all seniors attending Grad Bash on Friday, April 8. The meeting will be held after school at 2:45 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Grad Bash is the end of the year field trip for seniors who will visit Universal’s Island of Adventures and Universal Studios. Students spend the evening in both parks enjoying a variety of rides and rollercoasters.

Students are required to bring in and turn in their completed Grad Bash permission slips at the meeting. Failure to turn in the completed form will result in the inability to sign up for a Grad Bash bus seat. In addition to a parent signature, this form must also be signed by the student’s third and fourth period teachers since students will miss both class periods on the day of the trip.

On the day of departure, students are required to attend first and second period as well as A lunch. After A lunch, seniors must report to the auditorium for departure.

Seniors are not allowed to wear attire that is not in accordance with Broward County Public Schools’ dress code policy. Due to multiple schools attending Grad Bash, students are not allowed to wear any clothing with the school name or logo in hopes of minimizing any school rivalries that could result in arguments or physical altercations.

For any questions regarding Grad Bash, students and parents are encouraged to speak to Student Government teacher Danielle Driscoll in room 210 or via email at [email protected].
