Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School JROTC hosted an annual blood drive on Sept. 2. The blood drive was sponsored by the Big Red Bus, who works with OneBlood.

OneBlood is a local blood provider, serving Tampa Bay, South Florida, Southeast Florida and Central Florida, for hospitals and trauma centers. Each pint of blood can save up to three lives.

“It was a great way to start off another year of blood drives,” senior and JROTC member Miguel Garcia said. “We hope to continue to save lives and hopefully increase the number of pints donated.”

JROTC typically hosts two blood drives a year, but they hope to increase to three or four for the 2022-2023 school year.
