Cypress Northcraft and Ashveen Saini

A second meeting discussing the zoning boundaries of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School will be held on Nov. 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Coral Springs Middle School. Entrance doors will open at 5:30.

Attendees will park in the CSMS parking lot and overflow will park at Betti Stradling Park, across from Wiles Road. No bags are allowed and security will be scanning attendees upon entrance to the facility. A virtual option, a livestream, is also available for those who cannot attend the meeting, which was also available for the last meeting.

At this meeting, draft enrollment relief proposals submitted by community members for MSD will be shared and discussed. The last day to submit proposals was Oct. 31, and will be discussed at the meeting Thursday. General comments were sent in by community members who wanted to share their feedback on the boundary process; these will also be discussed at the meeting. Comments can still be posted for county members to view.

The Broward County website includes boundary proposal maps with highlighted areas that show the proposed areas that would be removed from the zoning changes. The description entails how many students are residents of the highlighted area;the map also includes where those students will become rezoned to.

Over the 14 maps, the most common areas cut out due to the boundary changes would be parts of east Parkland and south Coral Springs.
