In 2019, as a senator, Harris proposed legislation to create an Office of Climate and Environmental Justice Accountability and introduced climate justice advisers in federal agencies to evaluate environmental rules’ impact on low-income communities. Harris recently changed her view on fracking from anti to pro-fracking.
