On Friday, Oct. 23, after four long years, British singer Adele greeted the music world all over again with her new single “Hello.” The single came as a major surprise for her fans. For a year, it had been rumored that the “Rolling in the Deep” crooner was working on an album entitled, 25. The whispers around the world soon would be silenced after The X Factor displayed a 30 second clip with the lyrics “Hello, it’s me” across a black screen, accompanied by the melodic voice of Adele. Within seconds, the clip sparked excitement on Twitter and sent fans up in a frenzy.

There was no word from Adele herself, until Wednesday, Oct. 21, when she shared her comeback letter with the world , announcing her album and apologizing for taking so long. She also went on to mention that her last record, 21, was a break-up record and labels 25 as more of a make up record. She claimed that the album is made up of herself, lost time, and everything she did and never did. After releasing the statement, she went dead silent once more until “Hello” was released along with a tear-jerking music video. Since then, the world has raved about Adele’s return. Fellow musicians, such as Katy Perry, Sam Smith, and Zendaya, have also shown admiration for Adele’s comeback.

The six time Grammy winner’s comeback record has already broken three records: the first for the most downloads (more than one million) in a week, the second for the most views on Youtube in 24 hours – beating Taylor Swift’s record for her “Bad Blood” music video – and the third for most views on Youtube in five days (100 million) – beating out Miley Cyrus’ record for her “Wrecking Ball” music video.

Well, Adele, we welcome you with open arms and can’t wait for the full album, which is released Nov. 20.
