“When I don’t know what to wear, I always resort to a flannel because it makes it look like I put a lot of effort and thought into my outfit,” Junior Samantha Schneid said. “In reality, i’m just wearing it to mask my lack of motivation to put an outfit together.”

Another popular trend this fall is fashion forward backpacks. Many celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lawrence, Taylor Swift and more have been sporting the trendy yet convenient look.

Many backpacks which are suitable for fall include elements of fringe and leather. When the two are put together, they balance each other out as the fringe provides a soft touch the hard leather. These two elements come together to create an edgy yet ladylike backpack.

The back pack is not only fashionable, but is also practical.

“ I bought a really cute fringe backpack a week ago and I haven’t used a different bag since,” Junior Julia Sherman said. “Its great because it allows me to get my errands done without having to compromise my style.”

Leather skater skirts have also been a fashion favorite this fall. The femininity of the skirt yet the roughness of the leather make for a fashionable yet mature staple piece.

Leather skater skirts are perfect for any occasion as they can be dressed up or dressed down. On a casual day, a leather skater skirt, crop top, and  pair of espadrilles make for the perfect outfit. The outfit can transition from day to night by adding a pair of booties and a leather jacket.
