[Brief] Men’s cross country team competes in fourth seasonal meet

On Sept. 26, the men’s cross country team competed in the BCAA Week #4 Meet hosted by Deerfield Beach High School. The meet began at 4 p.m. at Quiet Waters Park.

The team placed first in their division, and managed to get five runners in the top 10, which is one more runner than the past two meets.

Captains Joshua Charo and Austin Freese placed third and fourth with times of 18:15 and 18:17, respectively. Juniors Jorge Zapata and Leo Scopino came in sixth and ninth, with times of 19:01 and 19:22, respectively. Sophomore Alexander Miller placed seventh, with a time of 19:04.

“It was a slow course, but I just wanted to stick with my teammates,” Miller said.

The next BCAA XC meet is on Wednesday, Oct. 3 and will take place at 4:30 p.m., at Plantation Heritage Park, as the meet is hosted by South Plantation High School.
