[Brief] Men’s varsity tennis team takes second place at district tournament

On Tuesday, April 16 the Marjory Stoneman Douglas men’s varsity tennis team continued in their fight at the district tournament for the second and final day before regionals begin next week.

Senior Michael Akselrud triumphed in his matches between Coral Springs High School as well as Monarch High School. However, he and the rest of the team took an overall loss to St. Thomas High School.

“Even though we came in second to St. Thomas, we’re all happy with the effort we gave. We grew closer as a team and improved as players. We’re all looking forward to regionals next week,” sophomore Tobiah Bower said.

The team is head to the regional tournament next week on Tuesday, April 23 and Thursday, April 25.
