The Stoneman Douglas junior varsity football team dominated Coral Glades High School on Sept. 21. The final score was 37-7, Douglas scored five touchdowns and converted on 2 extra points pushing their record to 2-1 on the season.

After the first touchdown scored by Alex Rodriguez on a 2-yard run, Blake Smith ran the ball 25 yards for a touchdown. The third touchdown was another example of Douglas’ excellent defense, Ethan Rocha got a 60-yard pick six, this was his second pick of the game and he had four tackles. Mason Hall converted a 2-point conversion after Ethan’s pick six. The fourth touchdown was hauled in by Andrew Edler on a 10-yard catch, Kevin Heinrich converted another Douglas 2-point conversion. The last touchdown was another significant play by Kevin Heinrich who scored a 30-yard run.

“Our defense did an amazing job we also played the run very well, we made sure all 11 guys were getting to the ball. We never let up,” linebacker Robert Manachescu said.
