Men’s varsity water polo team wins first game against Nova High School

On Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7:00 p.m., the men’s varsity water polo team beat Nova High School for an away game at Nova High School. The game ended with a score of 21-19.

Junior Allan Shihman (10) led the team with 12 goals, junior Lawrence Grygorenko (2) scored seven goals and sophomore Mikhail Shikhaleev (7) scored one goal.

“The game against Nova [High School] was a tough one, being our first game we had to make a lot of adjustments and work as a whole, which ultimately helped us come out on top at the end,” said Shihman.

The Eagles’ next game will be on Tuesday, Feb. 25 against Westminster Academy at Deerfield Beach High School at 7:30 p.m.

Nadia Murillo

Nadia Murillo is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She is the Social Media Editor for the Eagle Eye, President of MSD Best Buddies, an officer for Quill & Scroll (Journalism Honor Society), plays for the varsity water polo team, and is pursuing her NAFTrack Certification. In the future she hopes to pursue a career in public relations. When she isn't writing stories, she is either hanging out with friends, going on adventures, or sipping on a matcha latte.
