On Saturday, Feb. 22, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School JV baseball team played their first away game, a doubleheader against Western High School. The game took place at Western High School and began at 10 a.m.
The first game ended in a win for the Eagles with a score of 7-5.
“The game went really good. Our pitching was good though, and our at bats were not the best. We are going to keep improving,” sophomore Matthew Marcus said.
In the second game, they lost to Western High School by two hits, with a final score of 2-0.
“Our pitching was very good for the most part but we didn’t hit the ball as we would have liked to, so we gotta work on that but for the most part it was a good start to the season,” sophomore Maddox Raley said.
The next game is at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, against Taravella High School.
