Resume Review. Latinos in Action curriculum instructor Rebecca Hernandez clarifies the Professional Committee's assignment on resume building during fourth period on Oct. 7. Students constituting the Professional Committee prepared a resume building workshop in which the class made resumes for fictional characters. "The second I joined LIA, Mrs. Hernandez instantly taught us what leadership skills we needed to show and guide other people," senior and LIA 2 student Drake Goldapper said. "I pretty much instantly figured out that this was my passion by showing other people the way was what I wanted to do and she just gave us so many skills to help others grow and pursue what they want to be and what they want to achieve."

As part of the College Football Playoff Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers program, Fitz-Gerald was recognized for his leadership, impact and commitment to the community both on and off the field. "I've enjoyed my time here [at MSD]," Fitz-Gerald said. "I coach baseball, I teach, I sometimes serve as administrator or security. But it gives me an opportunity to meet new kids and kids that you normally wouldn't meet in class, and gives a chance for me to build relationships. That's why I teach and coach."
