On Sun., April 19, the school’s Best Buddies club attended the 15th Annual Friendship Walk at Nova Southeastern University from 12-4 p.m. Best Buddies is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for friendship, employment, leadership and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“The walk is a celebration of what we have worked for this entire year and how we have grown the club membership,” senior Zoe Vargas said.

The walk served as the club’s final major fundraiser of the year, bringing together multiple schools to celebrate their efforts and create a memorable experience for participants. The club surpassed its fundraising goal of $4,050, placing third among participating South Florida schools.
“The Best Buddies club is the best club I have ever joined,” graduate Dean Hassan said. “The people in Best Buddies make me feel amazing, and all the parties are lots of fun.”
Club sponsor Coral Bachen was named Faculty Advisor of the Year. Next year, the club looks forward to participating again.
