On Thursday, Feb. 27, the Stoneman Douglas varsity baseball team challenged their rival, the Taravella Trojans, at home.
With a final score of 11-1, the Eagles crushed the competition, only giving up one run in the first inning.
“We came out with a lot of energy knowing it’s our biggest rival.” senior Colin Flynn (23) said. “We had a big 2nd inning with a grand slam and another big inning in the 4th with another grand slam, which usually never happens twice in the same game. The pitching and defense were great and it was a complete team win.”
The next game will be an away game against Olympic Heights High School. The game will be on Tuesday, Mar. 3, at 6:30 p.m.
