On Sept. 13, the men’s golf team won their match against St. Thomas, Cypress Bay and Archbishop McCarthy in a nine-hole competition with an overall score of 159. Par for the course was 71.
“Honestly, I think we played great. Maybe if we had Leon at full strength, we could have done better,” sophomore Nathan Lewis said.
Senior Blake Leon, who played with a 102 fever, performed notably. Blake shot a 29 under par for the course.
“It’s rough, but you just want to keep pushing forward and play through so you don’t let your team down,” Blake Leon said. “The fever really affected my game physically. I felt completely out of it.”
Seniors Blake Cherry and Nikolas Campos and freshman Evan Kuperman had other key performances. Cherry shot 31 under par; Campos shot 33 under par, and Kuperman shot 32 under par.
