With Christmas time rolling around, Dunkin’ Donuts has released its new holiday drinks for the winter season. The list consists of their Holiday Blend Coffee, Peppermint Mocha Signature Latte, Toasted White Chocolate Signature Latte and their White Mocha Hot Chocolate. Unfortunately, I was kind of disappointed with the drinks; they definitely did not live up the hype or bring me the Christmas spirit I was expecting.

I started off with the Holiday Blend Coffee, which turned out to be my least favorite drink. I opened the cup just to see a drink similar to a plain coffee, nothing extraordinary. Left in suspense to see if the taste matched the boring appearance, I was only underwhelmed when they matched. Given the disappointment, I would give this drink a 3/10.

Dunkin’ promotes the Holiday Blend Coffee to have a flavor of sweet molasses and dried fruit from a blend of Colombian and Ethiopian coffees, but I could barely taste either. If I ordered a regular coffee with cream and sugar, it would’ve tasted exactly like this supposed featured, unique drink.” To be brutally honest, I either think they should take this off the holiday menu, or just replace it completely.

Served hot or iced, the Toasted White Chocolate Signature Latte brought a little redemption for Dunkin’. I got it iced, but if I were to get it hot I think the rich white chocolate flavor would be more apparent. It came with a caramel drizzle on top of the whipped cream which was definitely my favorite part. You really have to mix this drink to get all the flavors or else it will taste very bland, I learned within my first unmixed sip. This drink is definitely a 5/10.

Up next is the Peppermint Mocha Signature Latte, which was such a let down. Within the first sip it just tasted like coffee, but then I put my straw to the bottom of the cup and I got pure peppermint. To make matters worse, the peppermint tastes like the toothpaste you receive at the dentist. The chocolate and peppermint syrups sink to the bottom of the cup, making it very difficult to mix all the flavors together. You have to mix it with a spoon to get the full effect, which requires unnecessary effort. Sadly, I give this drink a 4/10.

Saving the best for last, the White Mocha Hot Chocolate was my favorite drink. Within the first sip I immediately fell in love. This drink surprisingly has a tasteful marshmallow flavor. Traveling very smoothly down my throat, I wanted to wrap myself in a blanket and sit by my christmas tree at home with it. I will be very disappointed when I have to see this drink leave during the conclusion of the holiday seasonal drinks. I give this drink a 10/10.

Overall, the Dunkin’ holiday flavors left me displeased. I had high expectations from the delicious looks Dunkin’ advertises, but was only left disappointed. The only drink I would recommend is the White Mocha Hot Chocolate.
