On Monday, Jan. 22 the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s men’s ice hockey team tied with Boca Raton Community High School with a score of 4-4 at the Panthers Ice Den in Coral Springs.
The Eagles’ scoring started late with senior captain Matthew Hauptman scoring the first goal, bringing the score to 1-1. Down 2-1, senior Joey Zenobi scored another goal that sparked an offensive burst, and shortly after, linemate Cameron McEachern scored to put some insurance on the game. Late in the third period, Boca Raton scored off a rush to even the game.
“We weren’t firing on all cylinders tonight, we need more rushes from the D-zone; we need to click better as a team,” Hauptman said.
The Eagles will play another home game against Boca Raton again on Jan. 28.
