On Jan. 28, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s ice hockey team beat Boca Raton Community High School by a score of 5-4 at the Panthers Ice Den in Coral Springs.
In a rebound effort, the Eagles came back from a six-day break and beat the Bobcats 5-4. Goals from Brady Walsh(10) and Ross Zoutte(97) earned the team an early lead. A resistance effort by Boca lead to a 2-2 game entering the third period. Zoutte would score and Boca would come right back to even the game at 4-4. Finally, Ethan Bohm(23) scored the winning goal with one minute left to end the scoring at 5-4.
“We were missing some guys on both ends, but everyone who was there was giving 100 percent, and we pushed and got the win,” Walsh said.
The Eagles’ last game of the regular season will take place on “senior night” on Jan. 29 against the Scottish Chiefs, a combined team from Saint Andrews Catholic School and Cardinal gibbons Catholic High School.
