Crystal Goes is a freshman at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. In her free time, she enjoys ice skating with friends, watching hockey and Formula One, reading and playing soccer.

Yoga instructor Stephanie Hawison-Villanueva directs students on their breathing. MSD Yoga hosted a yoga class and card decorating activity on the Day of Service and Love on Feb. 14. "I think yoga is the perfect representation of thinking in between mindfulness and remembering to be kind to others and yourself," Hawison-Villanueva said. "I thought it was a good day to do it."

National Honor Society Sponsor Lauren Saccomanno watches guest speaker Albert Price speak to NHS members. National Honor Society held their monthly meeting with Price on Monday, Nov. 4. "[Volunteering] varies on the years and the month, but we have started a couple new things; one of our officers Grace started a soccer program," Saccomanno said. "We have been able to continue older programs, too, like tutoring at Riverglades. NHS's goal is to have as many service projects as possible."

Coming up for a breath, senior Brittany Bean extends her arms while swimming against J.P. Taravella in the girl's 100-yard fly on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Coral Springs Aquatic Center. Bean finished second in this event with a time of 1:12, as well as competed in three other events. "I feel I did very well at the meet, but I would like to improve in my 500 and 100-yard fly because those are the events I am competing in for districts," Bean said.
