Most recently, MSD Varsity Hockey went toe-to-toe with rival North Broward Prep but ultimately fell short, snapping their seven game win streak.
Responding to this loss would be difficult but had to happen in order for the Eagles to get back on track.
The opportunity to do so came just one day after the loss.
On Monday, Dec. 9, MSD took on Archbishop McCarthy for the second time in three games at the Ice Den.
This game was the exact remedy that MSD needed.
Stoneman Douglas Hockey rallied the troops and put together a necessary 6-3 victory, leaving off right where they had picked up just one week after a 10-4 victory against this same Archbishop McCarthy team.
“It’s hard to describe the importance of winning after a loss. It changes the tone in the locker room and the direction of the season,” Senior Ethan Bohm (23) said.
Truly, this was a big one for MSD.
Now, the Stoneman Douglas hockey team has a record of 9-4.
The Eagles will play their next game at the home of the NHL’s Florida Panthers, the BB&T Center. The game will be against the Cypress Bay Lightning and begin at 2:30 P.M. on Thursday, Dec. 12.
