Rapper and singer Juice WRLD was known as one of the most influential music artists of all time. Famous for breaking numerous records–including having the biggest streaming week ever for an album and landing five songs simultaneously in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100–Juice WRLD has earned his place as one of the most successful artists of this generation.
On Dec. 8, 2019, Juice WRLD tragically passed away, leaving fans all around the world heartbroken. Despite his passing, Juice’s influential music has continued to live on with listeners.
His record label released two great albums posthumously, “Legends Never Die” and “Fighting Demons.” On May 21, 2021, Juice’s manager, Lil Bibby, announced the title of his final album, “The Party Never Ends,” which was loved across social media. By February 2021, the album had officially entered development; it was finally released on Nov. 29, 2024.
The album contains 19 tracks with features from Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Benny Blanco, the Kid LAROI, Offset and Fall Out Boy. Songwriter and producer Benny Blanco designed the album, crafting it out of Juice WRLD’s best songs. The album opens with the sound of a crowd chanting Juice WRLD’s name, capturing the energy of a live concert.
“I think it was designed to feel like you were at a Juice WRLD concert and Juice was singing to you,” senior Jaden Zadanowsky said. “The intro track has me really excited for the rest of the album.”
Juice is known for working with all types of sounds, commonly making use of emotional and depressing lyrics. For the first nine tracks, the album revolves around partying and has high energy, which is unlike Juice’s past work.
By the end of the ninth track, Juice’s voice is heard at a concert dedicating the next song to many musicians that unfortunately passed away. The 10th track, “Goodbye,” is sung only by the Kid Laroi, who was mentored by Juice WRLD. The song is about saying goodbye to people who have passed.
Then, with a beautiful tone and lyrics, the album transitions into a deeper emotional setting. In the melodic, slow-moving songs “Party By Myself,” “Adore You” and “Best Friend,” Juice WRLD sings about love, depression, mental trauma, anxiety and drugs. The high and low energy on the album allows listeners to appreciate Juice WRLD’s wide musical range.
“I really enjoyed the song ‘Party By Myself’ because I can see it as something I can listen to in the car at night and sing out loud,” junior Joie Levine said.
The outro, “Spend It,” talks about living a lavish life and enjoying every second one has on Earth. The song ends with a motivational speech by Juice WRLD from one of his concerts, in which he talks about doing whatever you want to in life. This leaves Juice’s fans with an inspirational last impression of him.
Overall, with great flow and energetic beats throughout, the album was an impactful listen that paid homage to Juice WRLD’s legacy. The album discussed the complex topics of heartbreak, addiction and mental health problems, all things that many people can relate to. With new talks of a deluxe album on the way, fans are excited to hear that Juice WRLD’s legacy will continue to live on.
