Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s chapter of Florida Future Educators of America held a Valentine’s Day cookie gram sale the week before Valentine’s Day. The sale took place in the cafeteria during both A and B lunches on Friday, Feb. 7 and Monday, Feb. 10.
Each cookie gram cost $1 and came with a cookie and a personalized message to whoever the buyer wanted to show their appreciation to.
“I bought a candy gram to show my appreciation to someone that means something special to me,” junior Brody Berger said.
FFEA sold 96 cookie grams over a five-day period. Proceeds went towards supporting the program’s activities, which include attending seasonal rallies, a state convention and a regional conference.
“We are selling cookie grams so people can feel special on Valentine’s Day,” junior Sparta Koumoutsakis said. “I really enjoyed the experience of selling them because it gets people to show love.”
Students in FFEA are also part of the school’s Teaching Academy program. During their eighth period class, the FFEA members hand wrote each message and packaged the cookie grams.
Cookie grams were delivered to students on Thursday, Feb. 13 during seventh and eighth period.
