On Monday, Sept. 25, the men’s bowling team defeated Coral Glades high school in their first match of the season at Sawgrass Lanes.
As a whole, the team had solid performances with the majority of players scoring above at least 160 in each of their games. Led by front runners junior Tyler Frydman and senior Jeremy Jacobs, the men’s team reached a score totaling 829 in the first game and 873 in the second game. Frydman earned the top score of the day for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas men’s bowling team with a 190. Senior Cameron Price and Jacobs trailed close behind with scores of 185 and 181, respectively.
“It was a rough start,” captain Devon Weisenfeld said. “But we persevered and won a hard fought game. I am proud of my teammates for staying strong and fighting until we walked away with the win.”
Overall the Eagles had a great start to their season with their win over Coral Glades high school and are looking forward to improving with each game.
The next match will take place at Sawgrass Lanes on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 3:30 p.m. against Pembroke Pines Charter school.
