On Friday, Dec. 15, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School men’s varsity basketball team faced another defeat against Coral Glades High School. This will account for their third loss of the season.
Although the Eagles had the home court advantage, they failed to protect the nest, losing 47-55. While the two teams remained neck-and-neck for the duration of the game, the Jaguars ultimately pulled ahead with a slight lead.
“I thought we didn’t play up to our full potential” junior Preston Sasser said.
Coaches, team managers and players throughout the season have expressed similar sentiments.
“We really need to work on our defense; that is where we are struggling the most. It seemed like only a few kids wanted to play,” Sasser said.
The next game will be an away game on Thursday, Dec. 21 at Monsignor Edward Pace High School in Miami Gardens.
