On Wednesday Sept. 4, at 3:30 p.m. the MSD Women’s Varsity Golf team competed in their first match of the season. The original season opener was scheduled to be against Deerfield Beach High School but was canceled due to Hurricane Dorian. The team played in a tri against Pompano Beach High School and Cypress Bay High School at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club.
Pompano Beach High School was disqualified from the scoring because they only had three players. MSD won the match, scoring 191 on nine holes while Cypress Bay had a score of 195.
“It was such a wonderful last first match and I’m grateful for such amazing teammates,” senior Naomi Rozenberg said. “I’m really looking forward to this season.”
The next match will be a home match held on Thursday Sept. 5 at The Eagle Trace Golf Club against American Heritage Plantation.
