On Aug. 27, the Stoneman Douglas Men’s golf team faced off against Cardinal Gibbons at Jacaranda Country Club in Plantation, for their second game of the season.
The team played hard, and it was close, yet in the end, they took the victory, with Douglas shooting 334, and Cardinal Gibbons shooting 346. The medalist of the game was Junior, Evan Kuperman.
Kuperman shot a 79, playing a big role in contributing to the team’s win, and helping to solidify the team’s 12 stroke lead.
“The conditions were tough and overall our team did not play too well, but luckily Evan Kuperman scored a good 79,” Junior Tyler Le said.
This marks the first win of the season for Douglas, and hopefully with consistent, good play, is the first of many more to come.
The next match will be on September 9th, and will begin at 3:30 at Eagle Trace, with the team facing off against Deerfield Beach.
