Locked in. Freshman Nicholas Perez stands at the start line awaiting the start of his race. This was at Dillard High School who was hosting an invitational track meet on March 6. Perez was running the 110 Meter Hurdles and earned a time of 24.54. "So usually before a race I get nervous, but I use that when im nervous or afraid im not going to do good or im going to fall. To do the hurdles is a really mental thing so I have to be in the right mindset so I use that nervousness and fear to be my drive. I dont let it get to me completely. I use it as my motivation to not fall and to push myself" Perez said.
