The Eagle Eye is the official student-run newsmagazine and online news website for Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The Eagle Eye has won three consecutive Gold Crown Awards from Columbia Scholastic Press Association, three consecutive Pacemaker Awards from the National Scholastic Press Association and five consecutive All-Florida Awards from the Florida Scholastic Press Association. The Eagle Eye received special recognition from the Pulitzer Prize committee in 2019 for their coverage of the 2017-2018 school year.
Leni Steinhardt is a member of the graduating class of 2020 and Co Editor-In-Chief for The Eagle Eye. She hopes to major in mass communication and journalism in college and later pursue a career in journalism. She is currently involved in numerous clubs and activities including Students Demand Action, National Association of Students Against Gun Violence, Girls Varsity Golf Team and is President of the English Honor Society. She is also the Family Relations Chair of Dance Marathon, Historian of her local BBYO chapter, Dance Moral Captain for the 2018 Dance Marathon, and freshman class senator. She is the recipient of the Underclassman award for Journalism and Newspaper in both her freshman and sophomore year. Leni has always been intrigued by the world of journalism and its importance in the world, especially in light of impactful events. Her enthusiasm for this as well as writing pushed her to apply for The Eagle Eye. The newspaper has shaped Leni as a person and especially in her career aspirations in journalism.
Dara Rosen is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She has been on the Eagle Eye staff for three years and is currently one of the Editors-In-Chief. She will be attending Florida Gulf Coast University next fall to study journalism where she hopes to also minor in political science.
Brianna Fisher is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas and the co Editor in Chief of the Eagle Eye. She loves being a part of the newspaper staff!! Brianna hopes to go into criminal justice when she is older to help those in need.
Ava Steil is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She enjoys reading, writing, and studying with her friends at local coffee shops.
Zoe is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas and is the co Editor-in-Chief of the Eagle Eye Newspaper. Besides her passion for journalism, Zoe loves to dance and travel. She hopes to one day major in advertising and public relations.
Fallon is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She looks forward to contributing to the school newspaper this year!
Brianna Jesionowski is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She is the Director of Photography and Design and is also one of the four Editor-in-Chiefs for The Eagle Eye. She is a big coffee and dog lover.
Ashley Ferrer is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and an Editor-in-Chief for the Eagle Eye. Her extracurriculars include cheerleading, track and writing poems. In the future, she hopes to become a journalist.
Nadia Murillo is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She is the Social Media Editor for the Eagle Eye, which means that she runs all of the Eagle Eye's social media platforms. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in public relations. When she isn't writing stories, she is either hanging out with friends, going on adventures, or sipping on a matcha latte.
Lily Singer is a sophomore at Marjory Stoneman Douglas who spends her time listening to music and hanging out with her friends and family. She enjoys taking pictures, watching movies and playing soccer.
Ivy Lam is a sophomore at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She is the Coordinator of Press Releases for DECA, the secretary for HOSA and an Assistant EIC for the Eagle Eye newspaper. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing and traveling.
Bryan Nguyen is a junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He is a photographer for the Eagle Eye and a member of the Astronomy Club and Key Club.
Matthew Rosenthal is a sophomore at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He enjoys playing sports and hanging out with friends outside of school.
Anisah Steele is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She is a writer for the Eagle Eye. In her free time, she hangs out with friends. After graduating high school, her plans are to get a bachelors in neuroscience and attend medical school.
Fenthon Aristhomene is a photo editor on the Eagle Eye staff. He is a senior and plays on the Varsity Football team. He also wrestles for the Varsity Wrestling team.
Travis Newbery is a junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He is an assistant Editor-in-Chief and the design editor for the Eagle Eye. Travis has interests in photo and video editing and technology.
