The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Spanish Club hosted their fifteenth annual Multicultural Show on Friday, Dec. 6. The show was held during first and second periods for MSD students and staff, as well as at 7 p.m. for the general public. It was directed by senior Josefina Lamaison.
The show featured 23 dances, including jive, cumbia, merengue and Bollywood. The theme this year was “Back to the Future,” and in between dances, junior Julián García and seniors Constanza Lamaison and Calyx Olsen acted as Marty, Jenny and Doc, respectively.
Junior Melanie Barrett dances during the opening performance of jive. This was the first year in which the Multicultural Show included the jive dance, inspired by the Broadway musical "Grease," and was choreographed by senior Julia Iuchyk. "Honestly, I have the greatest dancers. I love them so much. They did so good," Iuchyk said.
Senior Mariana Rojas Ramos grins as she twirls her skirt. Rojas was performing in the cumbia dance from Colombia, which opened the second act of the Multicultural Show.
