[Brief] Women’s JV Soccer Beats Pompano Beach High School

On Saturday, Nov. 18 at 2:00 p.m., the women’s junior varsity soccer team competed against the Golden Tornadoes from Pompano Beach High School at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School home field. The MSD Lady Eagles defeated the Golden Tornadoes with a score of 8-0.

Rebecca Marks (10) and Mia Newberg (3) each brought in two goals for the team with assists from Molly Marks (18) and Emily Burke (16). Burke, Raquel Alvarado (7), Francesca Lozano (9), Katelyn Gomez (24) and Kayla Conn (12) also brought in one goal each.  

“Great overall performance by these ladies. I’m very proud of them,” coach Caterina Yibirin said. “We worked hard as a team to create these results. I’m very excited to keep improving to bring more success this season.”

The MSD Lady Eagles will play their next game at Western High School against the J.P. Taravella High School Trojans on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 11:20 a.m.
