[Brief] Men’s varsity basketball team falls short against Western High School

On Jan. 29th, the men’s varsity basketball team went up against the Western High School Wildcats.

The final score of the game was 73-68. The Wildcats outscored the Eagles and took the win. The Wildcats played good offense and defense the whole game. The Eagles hung with them the whole game, only losing in the very end by five points.

“We hung in there the whole game and just got outscored by too many points in some quarters and that hurt us,” coach Orlando McCorvey said.

The game against the Wildcats was a non-conference loss for the Eagles. The team is now looking towards  the district playoffs, in which they recently secured their spot in following a few district losses by Coral Springs High School.

“I think we are ready for the playoffs we have been playing pretty good lately,” point guard Rj Rowe (5) says.

On Jan. 31, the team will play their next and final game of the regular season against Cooper City High School.
