On Wed., Dec. 10 and Thurs., Dec. 11, pictures for all the school’s clubs were held in the gym throughout the school day. This included both extracurricular clubs, such as Makerspace and Key Club, and co-curricular clubs, such as DECA and Newspaper.
The club picture schedules were announced last week. Clubs were told what time their pictures would be, and it was the officers’ responsibility to relay this information to all club members.
A total of 107 clubs took pictures over the two days. All sponsors were given passes for members to pick up from their classrooms; these passes allowed for members and officers to be excused from their classes for the duration of their photo(s).
Each club was arranged onto the gym bleachers by a yearbook staff member, with the club officers and the sponsor in the front row. Then, they were given a poster to hold with their club’s name on it. The photographers took several photos, one with the poster identifying the club for later use during yearbook production and then a series without the poster. Members and officers were not allowed to have their school IDs on, as well as any AirPods, headphones, hats, hoods or backpacks.
The club pictures were taken by Fox-Mar, and will be given to the school’s yearbook staff to add to the 2025-2026 yearbook.
“Before pictures we have to make the schedule and sort the posters with each club’s name on it,” yearbook clubs editor and junior Lila Shane said. “During pictures, I have to arrange and organize the clubs so they are able to take the pictures. After, I have to design the pages that hold the club pictures.”
Most students were part of multiple clubs and left classes throughout the day to go take pictures.
“[On Wed.], I took pictures for the Asian Student Association, and then I took photos for Model UN,” junior Ana Maraccini said. “And [on Thurs.], I’ll be taking photos for the French Honor Society.”
Colleges can view club pictures, as well as other online content from the clubs when evaluating applications.
“I think [club pictures] are beneficial for the individual person because a lot of colleges want proof that you are in these clubs,” Maraccini said.
Club pictures will showcase the many student interests, and show the diversity of students at the school. All clubs now await to see their pictures later in the year when the yearbook is distributed in May 2026.
