[Brief] Varsity baseball team wins season opener against North Broward Preparatory School

On Thursday Feb. 21, the Eagles hosted their first home game for the spring season against North Broward Preparatory School. Fortune favored the home team as the score was 5-0, Eagles.

“We were elated for our first home game,” shortstop Coby Mayo (20) said.

Pitcher Kevin Heinrich (22) earned the win to the team. He allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Pitchers Luis Fuentes (21) and Kane Piccininni (27) entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Their next game will be Monday, Feb. 25 at Charles W. Flanagan High School.
