[Brief] Seniors attend cap and gown assembly

Seniors with sixth period study hall and senior privilege on burgundy days as well as seniors with second period study hall on silver day at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School attended the cap and gown assembly on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9. The assembly informed students about how to order their caps and gowns, different packages they can order, and when they need to order it.

“The purpose of the cap and gown assembly was to inform the senior class of 2024 about ordering their cap and gowns from Jostens,” leadership teacher Danielle Driscoll said. “The meeting aimed to give them an idea of where to order their cap and gown and emphasize that it is a uniform requirement.”

The assembly was put on by senior assistant principal Sandra Davis and Jostens, the company for students to order their caps and gowns and inform seniors about different packages they can purchase.

All packages include the necessities which are a Cap, Gown, Tassel and Medallion but each package includes different free extras with it from hoodies to graduation announcements. The packages consist of the graduate package: Ultimate, Platinum, Eagles and essential packages.

During the assembly, students were able to look at different items available for them to purchase such as class rings, sweatpants, hoodies, letterman jackets and more. The assembly gave students including QR codes to scan to get texts and have parents get texts. It walked them through how to order their caps on the website and everything that is included in each individual package. The assembly started at 9:15am in the auditorium and was about 30 minutes long.

The assembly helped to give students an idea of where their caps and gowns should be ordered from and when they should be ordered by. Cap and gown orders should be placed by Nov. 22.
