[Brief] MSD releases exam exemption forms for underclassmen

As the end of the school year approaches, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School has released exam exemption forms for finals week. It allows students to select up to three exams they qualify for and wish to exempt. These selections must be submitted along with parental confirmation by 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

This form can also be found on the MSD website under “School News.” Students must provide their 06 number and up to three classes with the course title, period and teacher that they wish to exempt.

With the implementation of School Board Policy 6000.1, students who have earned a grade of a “B” or higher in a class, may exempt up to three semester exams.

Students should choose their exemptions wisely, as decisions are final once the form has been submitted. Additionally, one should monitor their fourth-quarter grades, as exemptions may be withdrawn if grades fall below a “B” after approval.
On the day of the exam, exempted exams do not count against the school’s 10-10-10 policy and are marked as “EE” (Exam Exempted) in the school’s system. If you report to school, you must report directly to the class on your schedule, even if you exempted the exam.
