[Brief] MSD announces testing dates for the 2023-2024 School year

The 2023-2024 school year is coming to an end and testing dates will be starting on May 1 – 24. The dates are set at the beginning of the school year for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students.

Testing begins in the week of May 1. The four tests are throughout the week starting with the seniors tests, Florida Assessment of Student Thinking Progress monitoring 3 retake, EOC Algebra 1/Geometry retake and EOC United States History and Biology retake.

Throughout the week of May 6-10, there will be a total of 15 tests. On Monday, May 6, Advanced Placement U.S. Government will be testing at 8 a.m. in the auditorium. Afterwards, AP Chemistry and AP Art History will both be at 12 p.m. AP Chemistry testing will be in the Media Center and AP Art History will be in room 211.

On Tuesday May 7, AP Human Geography, AP Microeconomics, AP Seminar, and AP Statistics will be testing. AP Human Geography will be at 8 a.m. in the auditorium as well as AP Microeconomics at 8 a.m. in the media center. AP Seminar will be at 12 p.m. in the media center, and AP Statistics will be at 12 p.m. auditorium.

With the last quarter coming to an end quickly, many students feel unprepared, anxious, and many other mixed emotions due to testing coming. For many freshmen, they will be taking an AP exam for the first time.

“I am very stressed about my AP exam. I think the dates are too early since school does not end for another month after the date,” freshman Amanda Bilsky said. “I feel like I am ready, I just have to study a bit more.”

On Wednesday, May 8, the FAST ELA PM 3 for freshmen and sophomores will be happening. Signing out early or not attending school will not count for the 10-10-10 rule.

AP English Literature and Composition and AP Computer Science will also be testing on May 8. AP English Literature and Composition will be at 8 a.m. in the auditorium and AP computer science A will be at 12 p.m.

On Thursday, May 9, and Friday, May 10, testing for AP Environmental Science, AP Psychology, AP United States History, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Spanish Literature and Composition will be held all day but will be starting at 8 a.m. Also, AP Environmental Science on Thursday, May 9 and AP U.S. History on Friday, May 10 will both be in the auditorium.

On Thursday, May 9, AP Psychology will be in the auditorium at 12 p.m. On Friday, May 10, AP Spanish Literature will be in the auditorium at 12 p.m. as well.

AP Macroeconomics will be at 12 p.m. in the media center on Friday, May 10 until the end of the day.

Testing resumes on Monday, May 13, when both AP Calculus AB and BC occur at 8 a.m in the media center. AP English Language and Composition will be held at 8 a.m. in the auditorium on Tuesday, May 14. AP Physics C and AP Physics C E&M will be at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. in room 211.

The Biology and US History EOCs will both be held on Thursday, May 16, dividing the classes by last name. This day will also not count for 10-10-10. AP Spanish Language will be held at 8 a.m. in the media center, and AP biology will be at 12 p.m. in the auditorium on Thursday, May 16.

The last week of testing will be from May 21-24. On Tuesday, May 21, the BEST EOC for Algebra and Geometry will both be happening. Students will be testing in alphabetical order by last name. Senior exams for periods 7 & 8 will also be on Tuesday.

From Wednesday to Friday, AP late and make-up testing will be happening. On Wednesday, as well as AP late and makeup testing more, senior exams for periods 3 & 4 will be happening. On Thursday, May 30, senior exams for periods 5 and 6 will be testing and on Friday, May 31, periods 1 and 2 will be testing.

With the school year coming to a fast-approaching end, testing dates are going to be throughout the entire month of May and finals throughout June.
