[Brief] Men’s varsity water polo team outplays South Plantation High School

On Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 5:30 p.m., the men’s varsity water polo team defeated South Plantation High School for a home game at Northeast High School. The game ended with a score of 27-3.

Sophomore Allan Shihman (10) scored 10 goals, his new career high, co-captain William Berk (18) made seven goals, senior Trevor Berkson (8) scored four goals, senior Camden Lander (21) made three goals, co-captain senior Vinny Valdez (2) scored two goals, and senior Jared Fabrikant (13) made one goal. Goalie Chris Stepp (16) blocked 13 shots throughout the game.

“It was a very special win for us,” said Shihman. “Not only was it our first win of the season, but it was one of the first times that we truly worked as a team and we all had fun playing.”

The Eagles’ next game will be Wednesday, Feb. 27 against Coral Glades High School, who they previously beat last year, at 7:30 p.m.
