[Brief] MSD seniors attend information meeting regarding Grad Bash

On Monday, April 15, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School hosted a meeting for all seniors who plan on attending the annual Grad Bash field trip on Friday, April 19. The meeting took place in the cafeteria and senior class representative Danielle Driscoll shared all the information seniors need, as well as opportunities for them to ask questions.

“The meeting was really informative and I feel it covered everything needed to ensure we have a great trip,” senior Ashley Alfaro said. “I am very excited for this Friday and hope everything goes smoothly.”

Each year, throughout Florida, schools arrange for their senior students to attend a Grad Bash field trip, taking place in Universal Studios, Orlando. While normally the park will close around 7 p.m., the park stays open, allowing seniors to have a great time around kids their own age. While each school is different, MSD students paid a little over $200, a price including transportation and tickets.

“I think the price for Grad Bash was quite reasonable,” senior Ryan Rowe said. “The meeting we attended answered all my questions and I am really excited to attend.”

At the meeting, Driscoll ensured that all students understood that they are financially responsible for meals, merchandise and anything else they think they need for the event. Seniors are all to take A lunch on the day of the field trip, and will head to the auditorium shortly after to be searched and sent onto their assigned buses. Seniors will arrive at the park at around 4:30 p.m., and will be leaving the park at 2 a.m.

Students are required to follow the Broward County dress code, even while on a field trip. Seniors also were warned about what can and can not be brought onto the trip including other people’s medications, drugs, nicotine and more.

Any seniors who have further questions are able to visit room 201 and ask Driscoll.
