[Brief] BCPS announces no backpacks for the end of school year

As the end of the school year quickly approaches, Broward County Public Schools announced that from Monday, June 3 to Monday, June 10, backpacks and other sorts of bags will not be permitted on school campuses.

‘I like that BCPS is not allowing backpacks during the last few days of school,” sophomore Aubrey LaTorre said. “I find that although it may be a little difficult to consolidate everything I need for school, it does make everyone on campus feel safer and that is the priority.”

BCPS plans to prioritize the safety of students and staff by implementing additional safety measures during the final days of school. Therefore, students may only bring lunch in a small lunch box and a small pouch for personal hygiene items.

More information on this can be found on the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School website where a flier is posted.
