When customers step into Ella Coffee House, they are automatically greeted by the aromatic scents of freshly ground Italian coffee beans and a cozy atmosphere. This small local chain has quickly captured the hearts of many South Florida residents.

Ella Coffee House was established in 2016 and has three locations in South Florida, including Plantation, Davie and, more recently, Coral Springs. This small cafe opened its Coral Springs location in September 2024.

At first glance, Ella Coffee House might seem like any other coffee shop. However, they have many amenities that set them apart. Take their creative sweeteners–like Sticky Banana, Hazelnut-Ella, French Toast and Rosemary Caramel–which are all unique and not found in common franchise coffee shops, like Starbucks and Dunkin.

There is a variety of items sold at Ella Coffee House besides coffee. For example, they sell tea, non-caffeinated beverages like hot or milk chocolate, freshly squeezed juice and sparkling water. They also offer sandwiches, salads, pastries, muffins and toasts to eat.

An item that was particularly enjoyable was their chai tea latte sweetened with honey and regular milk. Each sip tasted fresh and quenched my thirst. Additionally, I ordered a quiche, which is an egg bake with spinach, cheese and tomato. It was rich in protein and delicious. We also tried their grilled cheese with tomato soup, which was flavorful and filling.

In the past I have enjoyed their iced matcha latte with vanilla syrup as well, and appreciated the matcha flavor, although it could have been stronger. Other than that, my experiences at Ella Coffee House have been enjoyable and I look forward to going back.

Another unique feature of Ella Coffee House is their one-of-a-kind loyalty program, which offers one point per dollar and a 7% reward (most places offer 5%). They also offer double points on Tuesdays at every location.

Ella Coffee House is planning to expand their company into a franchise. This Italian-style coffee house plans on becoming a widespread cafe. On their website, their mission statement is to “taste perfection in every sip” and “provide an unparalleled Italian coffee experience.” Ella Coffee House is focused on bringing its charm and flavors to even more coffee lovers.

The service is also great, with kind staff and special food service. Every drink or sandwich ordered in the restaurant comes with a free cookie on the side and is served on an engraved cutting board that spells out “Ella” in a special signature.

Ella Coffee House specializes in Italian-style coffee beans using a proprietary blend; they make all of their food in house to ensure their artisanal quality. They even play live music on occasion.

This cafe is perfect for students, working parents, retired adults and anyone else who loves a good cafe experience. It is tranquil enough for a good study session, but homey enough for friendly conversation.
